Re: Favourite actor
She was a quite famous and beautiful actress

Well she was Indian and think the woman she thought was her sister was her mother.
In those more racist days having an Indian as a star was thought difficult and in the absence of any evidence to pretend she was British or American I guess they picked somewhere as FAR away as possible.
Or thought that given Errol Flynn was Tasmanian that they could get away with that being acceptable.
Obviously trying to pass her off as from Essex was impossible given she was beautiful and articulate. Coming from Essex is obviously far more unacceptable than being from a Mumbai SLUM to add to that dilemma.

I don't know who she was but going through life pretending to be Australian would take its toll on anyone.

Re: Favourite actor
Was reading an article recently about Merle Oberon who was born in India.
Her studio put out a story that her father was a British officer and that she was born in Tasmania ..... and that her birth records were destroyed in a fire.
She even visited Tasmania later in life at the urging of her husband but was so nervous about the truth getting out she feigned illness and stayed in her hotel.

All that anxiety and worry but obviously nothing compared to the indignity of Swiss digging her up to rattle her bones.

I know for a fact that you've already fucked Merle Oberon. I was covering the trial where you got five years for digging her up.

Re: Favourite actor
Ed Norton is a really great actor ; he kept doing split personality roles, almost showing off his ability -

split personality youth in primal fear
That infamous dual role in fight club
psycho Nazi / peaceful liberal in American history X
banner/ Hulk within banner, in Hulk
good/bad identical twin brothers in leaves of grass

made many other successful and popular films too

Red Dragon
25th Hour
Rounders

Etc
.

That reminds me.

Daniel Mays - he has been superb in everything he has been in. A few years ago he was part of a Shakespeare's solos project and his Macbeth was so good. He can do everything.

Oh and I know he was more of a comedy actor mostly but I somehow forgot Jack Lemon on my original list. Brilliant straight actor too.

For female....Kathy Burke & Sue Johnstone.

Oh dear. I'm afraid I have to disagree. I'm not especially an Elizabeth Moss fan at the best of times, but I find her Offred very overwrought. On the other hand, the actress who plays Serena Joy is outstanding.

Elisabeth Moss is outstanding in The Handmaids Tale
